Vertigo -- Chris Hennessy

Hey Chris,
Thanks for sending this on and giving me such a clear picture of what you are planning. Very professional to attach the drawing, color sketch and example of where you are headed. Regarding your sketch--it seems just a little different than what we discussed. I thought we talked about the guy falling from her face. Now somehow he looks as if he's running up her shoulder. I think it can be fixed easily if you just release his foot from her shoulder. Maybe it's like he's just falling into oblivion behind her. Regarding the Palace--it's cool but --here I go again, using this word for the third time--it's looks sort of collag-y. And the reason is--I don't understand her connection to it. It's sitting in her belly. Originally it was supposed to be a city scene that she was sort of growing from, and that made sense. Perhaps you should just take that out? If not, I think you should minimize it's importance. It's not hugely important in the movie--and shouldn't be in your poster either.
I think a value sketch could help with this a lot. It will help give us direction. I turned your color sketch into BW and you can see how it's sort of hard to read. That might be okay with your concept (dizziness), but give us one resting place or a little direction! I really like the energy in the color sketch--if you paint the face with a little more precision, I think it can work. I also really like this final that you've attached and think it's a great inspiration. Isn't that painted? You can stick with watercolor/ink. That's painting in my book.  Cool.
