Vertigo--Olivia Wise
Olivia, It's nice to see a sketch in color. Although, the piece is feeling a little collag-y. That's the second time I've used that word in critiquing the class' work. With yours, it's because Nate's character doesn't feel like he's apart of the background. It's as if he's been pasted into the background--like a bad movie trick in a hitchcock film. (sorry, i couldn't resist). And you've sort of highlighted that by adding color to him and not the background. Is there a way that you can bring him in? Maybe the stairs wrap around to meet him somewhere. Also, your guy seems a little passive. His hands are great--showing that he's off balance. But his expression is very soft and he's looking off screen (at something we can't see). Also, didn't you mention to me that his vertigo was just a small part of the film? What happened to all of your other concepts? I'd love to hear back from you.
